24 Weeks

How far along? 24 Weeks
Symptoms? Strong, healthy nails. I cannot get over how fast they are growing! It makes my nail polish look ridiculous. Also, sciatic pain on occasion---but nothing like it was a few weeks ago!
Also.....ahem....sneezing and pregnancy is disastrous. That's all I'll say about that. :(
Sleep: Sleeping great. I wake up a few times to flip over, but other than, sleeping soundly.
Best moment this week: We had a great time with my father-in-law, as we (they) finished some projects around the house. The best ones? My dining room set is refinished AND Grayson's furniture is in his room and they guys moved it where I think it should go. (So exciting!) Also, this weekend, I did some baby shopping and had a great time.....and probably spent too much money. However, there is still so much to do to get ready. Can't believe he will be here in about 16 weeks!!!
Miss Anything? I really miss sleeping on my back. Even though I am sleeping well, sometimes my hips are sore from laying on my sides.
Movement: Baby is a wiggle worm! The other day, we were laying in bed and we could actually see my tummy moving. Christopher said it looked like the scene from Jurassic Park where the water cup is rippling. It's pretty amazing to feel and even crazier to see!
Food cravings: Chinese food! yum yum yum And bananas with Nutella....drooooool
Anything making you queasy or sick: Every now an again, I feel just slightly nauseous....usually from brushing my teeth.
Have you started to show yet: Feeling very round in the front
Gender prediction: Blue
Labor Signs?  Nope
Belly Button in or out?  Still in!
Wedding rings on or off? On--and hoping the cooler weather that is coming will keep it that way.
Mood: Irritable. I've definitely got a short fuse!
Weekly Wisdom: Try not to be anxious. If you are feeling worried, don't bottle it in. I think pregnancy has given me a little more anxiety in general, so it is so good to be able to talk to Christopher whenever I'm feeling worried about every little thing. I think it is healthy for our relationship to be able to communicate any fears or concerns now, because Lord knows----there will be many more to come!
Looking forward to: I am looking forward to a quiet weekend. The past two weekends, we've been really busy with projects, plus I've got a ton of meetings and events happening at work this week. I am can't wait to have a lazy Saturday spent in my jammies! :)

23 Weeks

How far along? 23 Weeks
Symptoms? Heartburn. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat, but lately, I have been getting heartburn most evenings. It's not too severe, but enough to be kind of annoying.
***Update- I believe my snoogle has helped with sleep and my sciatic pain. While the pain is still there, it is definitely not as bad as it was! YAY!
Sleep: Sleeping SO much better! I'm still getting up to potty in the night, however, I'm finding getting back to sleep much easier. Also, thanks to the snoogle, I am so much more comfortable and less sore in the morning.
Best moment this week: Having my father-in-law in town and getting to spend time with him. Also, since he has been here, we've been getting a ton of house projects completed--- It's been awesome! Also, hubby's sweet folks gave us our stroller. We are so excited to use it in a few short months!! (Even though I think Elsa would like to use it now--ha!)
Miss Anything? Daily diet cokes....and now because this past week was cooler, coffee. When the weather is consistently cool, I know I'm going to really want some Starbucks. Yes, I'll admit to being as basic as possible....I want my pumpkin spice!
Movement: I feel baby everyday, although some days I feel him more than others. I can't help but worry on days when I can't feel him as much, however, I know at this point in the pregnancy, that it is completely normal to feel baby more some days than others....I just have to take a deep breath and remind myself of that!
Food cravings: Chik-fil-a chicken biscuits! Every Saturday, I've been treating myself to chik-fil-a breakfast...but I could go for it everyday!!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week! Feeling great! :)
Have you started to show yet: yes, indeed!
Gender prediction: Bow ties
Labor Signs?  Not yet....and hope to not have any for a while
Belly Button in or out?  Still in, looking flat
Wedding rings on or off? On-- no puffy fingers this week!
Mood: Still cranky at times. I feel like it doesn't take much to get under my skin....and I was like this BEFORE pregnancy....sooooooo......
Weekly Wisdom: Embrace the moments with the ones you love. Days are long, but weeks are short. Years are even shorter.
Looking forward to: I can't wait to have some of our baby furniture is being delivered this week (after having to change our delivery time last week) and to try to figure out the configuration of Grayson's nursery. I'm also looking forward to treating my father-in-law to some of Music City's yummy food this weekend! :)

22 Weeks

How far along? 22 Weeks
Symptoms? Sciatic nerve pain. I can be walking down the halls at school and it will hit me out of no where! It's like getting stabbed in the "back-butt" (as I call it). Also, baby must be going through a growth spurt, because I am STARVING all the time again.
Sleep: Getting better...still sometimes have a hard time getting back to sleep right away when I wake up in the night to go to the bathroom. However, this weekend Christopher bought me a "Snoogle" pillow in hopes that it will help me sleep. IT IS AMAZING. The snoogle has helped my sleeping tremendously! Thank the Lord!
Best moment this week: This past week we accomplished so, so, SO much! We finally got Grayson's daycare finalized (phew!) and I feel great about where he will be going. Also, we finally picked and ordered his baby furniture. Part of of it is actually coming in at the end of this week! Wahoo!!! However, his crib is on back order and won't be delivered until the first week of November--boo! Oh well....it will get here sooner than later. We are just excited to get everything together in his room.
Miss Anything? Still caffeine... I'm really missing morning Diet Cokes from Sonic.
Movement: Baby is a wild man! I'm pretty sure he loves to somersault around my tummy, as well as give me good kicks in my lower abdomen. I'm sure I love it, too. :)
Food cravings: Fall baked goods! After this weekend, I've been feeling the need to bake. A loaf of spiced pumpkin bread and an apple pie later, I'm loving it and thinking I will have to make some homemade applesauce next! :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Every now and again, I feel little nauseous at night---but there is no real reason for it.
Have you started to show yet: Bump bump bump
Gender prediction: ties
Labor Signs?  No--and I hope it stays that way for a while!!!!
Belly Button in or out?  In, but looking flatter by the week!
Wedding rings on or off? On--but I did have  some puffy fingers Saturday when we were out shopping. I think it was just from the heat
Mood: Very irritable most of the time. I'm pretty sure I am the queen of mood swings right now
Weekly Wisdom: So, it's hard to believe that it is almost the end of August.....and my pregnancy is more than halfway completed. I've spent so much of my time being worried about the pregnancy going wrong, that I haven't spent much time actually enjoying being pregnant. Now that Grayson has really been moving a lot more, I realized I only have a few more months I get to carry him and enjoy these special moments. I am really going to try to soak it in and enjoy this sweet blessing.
Looking forward to: My father-in-law coming to town! Yay!!! :)

SNOOGLE!!!!!

21 Weeks (better late than never)

Sorry to post this so late in the week! (as I am almost at 22 weeks now!) Things got crazy, and I just couldn't seem to find the time to get on here and finish my post! But here it is now :)

How far along? 21 Weeks
Symptoms? Insomnia...I've had a few issues with waking up in the night and not being able to go back to sleep. I hope this stops soon....I'm stupid tired!
Maternity Clothes? Last post about this---yes, and I keep filling these shirts out more and more!
Sleep: Please see symptoms....INSOMNIA! :(
Best moment this week: We had an awesome weekend together! We went out found to McCays and found a bunch of books for our little guy. We also got a great deal on some Disney movies! We went out to dinner Saturday night and then watched Tangled. It's starting to sink in that these moments of just the two of us are slowly fading away! Exciting and scary!
Miss Anything? Sleeping all night. I guess I will be missing this for the rest of my life now. HA! And also being able to consume as much caffeine as needed to make up for the sleepies.
Movement: Little boy is squirming all around---and sometimes I can feel him "wallop" me. I feel most of this movement in my lower abdomen, which makes me wonder if he is spending most of his time breech.
Food cravings: Spicy pasta! And apple sauce! mmmmmmm!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Been feeling a little nauseous at night--no real reason at all.
Have you started to show yet: Yes!.
Gender prediction: Little man
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Anxious and tired.
Weekly Wisdom: Things will get done....but make sure you make the time for what and who is important. Work will be there the next day!
Looking forward to: Trying to finalize daycare this week.....which is why I am feeling anxious!

20 Weeks

How far along? 20 Weeks! Only 20 more to go!
Symptoms? I've had some occasional puffy feet when I've been sitting too long or been standing too long. It's hard to find a happy medium!
Maternity Clothes? This is a big duh now....whoa, baby belly!
Sleep: When I'm asleep, I sleep well. However, I only sleep for about an hour or two at a time, then I wake up super sore and have to flip to the other side. I spend the night flipping over from side to side....it gets kinda of old and I miss sleeping on my back!
Best moment this week: We had a great time in Indianapolis for Drum Corps finals. We got to hang out with Christopher's brother, see some old drum corps friends, and enjoy a night of great performances. Not to mention, we stayed in an awesome suite in downtown Indy AND we had Skyline Chili. WIN!!!
Miss Anything? Hot dogs....even though I definitely cheated by eating two little coney dogs from Skyline.....but now I am craving them more! So yum.
Movement: Little man is moving around...usually at night. I've been feeling more kick like movements lately as well. I swear I thought I could feel him with my hand on Saturday, but I'm not exactly sure.
Food cravings: Peanut butter and banana sandwiches. And chocolate chip Eggo waffles. MMmmmmm!
Anything making you queasy or sick:Nothing making me feel sick this week! Yay!
Have you started to show yet: I feel like the bump has really poked out more this week--WHOA.
Gender prediction: Little guy
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:Happy---because we are halfway! How overwhelming is that?!?
Weekly Wisdom: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Looking forward to: Getting to see my sweet baby at my 20 week scan tomorrow! I can't wait to see how much he's grown! :)

On another note....

This weekend was my original due date with Baby Bean. It's hard to wrap my head around the emotions I feel in regards to knowing that time has come and gone. I spent some time reflecting on the 'what-ifs' I've tried not to dwell on. If we hadn't miscarried, we would (most likely) have a new little baby at home. However, then I wouldn't have this growing baby boy in my belly now. Even though the love and loss I felt (and still feel) for my first baby is very real, the love and relationship I have for our second baby is just as strong and growing. It's hard to believe I can feel as happy as do after the devastation I felt in January. How humbling it is to know that this is all part of a greater plan and my place in God's story.

19 Weeks

How far along? 19 Weeks
Symptoms? Sciatic pain like no one's business! I can be in the middle of a task when all of a sudden, I get a shooting pain in what I call the "back-butt" area. I had some trouble with my sciatica before getting pregnant, so it seems that pregnancy has enhanced this issue. Joy!
Maternity Clothes? Yes, indeed! I'm feeling large this week.
Sleep: Sleeping well, with a few wake ups in the night to flip over or go potty.
Best moment this week: Christopher and I had a great weekend together, complete with a BBQ lunch and trips to Babies-R-Us and Target to complete our sweet baby's registry!
Have you told family and friends: everyone knows!
Miss Anything? Diet coke....I've been trying to increase my water intake and not sneak the soda. However....I miss my favorite drink :(
Movement: Baby is squirmy....especially around 2 AM when I'm flipping over. I guess he is getting me ready for some of those late nights/early mornings!
Food cravings: Applesauce! I have consumed so much cinnamon applesauce recently and I can't seem to get enough! I usually make homemade applesauce in the fall, and I'm thinking I am going to have to make some a little earlier this year!
Anything making you queasy or sick: In the clear and feeling great!
Have you started to show yet: Good sized bump!
Gender prediction: blue
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Anxious and nervous--- because school starts Friday! EEk!
Weekly Wisdom: Teamwork is not overrated!
Looking forward to: Drum Corps Finals this weekend! Wahoo!!!!!
