13 Weeks

My friend Sara did a great blog "pregnancy diary" while she was pregnant with her daughter and it really encouraged me to do the same. I think it will be fun to look back on these posts someday! :)

How far along? 13 Weeks
Maternity clothes? Yes and no. My pants are very snug at the waist, but they still "fit." I went ahead and bought some maternity jeans and shorts. Holy cow. Maternity pants are the most comfortable pants EVER. I don't even care about those big ugly panels. Anythings better than my jeans smushing into my belly!
Sleep: SO tired. All the time. I have a few good hours in the morning, but after that, I could sleep the day away. I'm very thankful for my summer vacation and ability to nap when I want!
Best moment this week: Seeing little peanut at our 13 week scan. Baby was being a little stubborn, but finally started stretching out, waving, and kicking. I could even see him swallowing!
AND making it to the second trimester.....HURRAY! :)
Have you told family and friends: Baby is out of the bag!
Miss Anything? Cold deli sandwiches and caffeine. All I want is a Blimpie's sub!
Movement: Peanut is squirmy in there, but I haven't felt anything yet!
Food cravings: Changes day to day....but McDonald's fries sound good all the time. I wish I would crave something healthy, like salad.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Lots of things, but not as much as a few weeks ago. I am really turned off by chicken. YUCK.
Have you started to show yet: Little bump in the front....looks like I've been eating too much, but lo and behold, tis a baby!
Gender prediction: I am unsure....Christopher is sure it's a girl!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: hmmmm.....mostly happy, however, I am easily irritated. Just ask the lady at Walgreens who was all up in my space the other day. I wasn't very kind to her. whoops.
Weekly Wisdom: Try not to be too nervous and try to enjoy each day!
Looking forward to: Seeing the hubs side of the family soon! Yay!

and let's be real...who doesn't love a sneak peak???

Baby T~ 13 weeks

I'm Back!

Whoa! It has been WAY too long without a post. I had every intention on getting back on it as soon as work slowed down and summer vacation started. However, as soon as summer vacation started.....I started going into super LAZY mode.

No fears, I'm back. And I have PLENTY to share.

So in my blogging absence, life continued as usual. School was crazy and hectic, as it always is in May. The hubby and I celebrated our 5th....yes, our 5th anniversary. Crazy! My best friend got married and had a beautiful wedding.

And....we had a secret, A gnawing, drive you crazy, worry you to death secret.

I bet you'll never guess what that secret was?

Yes....we were (are) pregnant.

Literally, we've known since the earliest you could find out, and we have been on pins and needles ever since. Thankfully, our doctor has been amazing and saw us at 6 weeks, 7 weeks, 8 weeks, and 11 weeks. We've been able to see the peanut and listen to his/her heart beat. Today I am 13 weeks, and again, got to see sweet peanut swallowing, stretching, waving, and kicking. I think I will continue to be nervous until baby is finally here, but it is great to be through the first trimester. Here is to hoping the morning sickness will go away completely soon!!! :)

WGI Finals 2015

Happy Debbie Weekend!

This was the first time in quite a few years we didn't make it to Dayton for WGI finals. Instead, we had some of our best friends from Atlanta and Memphis come up to watch the live stream at our house. It was a glorious weekend that was filled with yummy food, shopping, antiquing, and pageantry!

We had a great time eating junky food and critiquing all design choices; as well as fan-girling over Aimachi. Truthfully, after many years of watching World class finals live, there is something to be said for being able to stay home and watch on the big screen. I didn't have to wait in line for the bathroom or for food. I didn't have to rush back to my seat for performances or fight crowds in the tent. We could talk and discuss our thoughts freely. I could leave in the middle of hotdog performances. Not to mention I'm not interested in the headquarters scene anymore.

The only downsides? No dip-n-dots and no crowd electricity. Oh well! I'm thinking the living room may be a great WGI party option. We had a wonderful time with wonderful friends, and I am thankful for that! :)

My personal favorites from the evening....

Mechanicsburg High School and Pride of Cincinnati. Also loved Carmel, Aimachi, and Imbue. Great evening and great season!

Can't wait for 2016!

Landscaping Weekend

Since we purchased our house last year, we have had some big plans for our landscaping. This weekend it was finally time to put our plan into action. We started by digging out 6 bushes and some monkey grass left by the previous owners. If I was not a fan of monkey grass before,I REALLY hate it now. THAT was a serious project. (But it's gone, yay!) We trimmed the remaining hedges, weeded all the flower beds, and removed close to 100 20-pound bricks from those areas.

Then the fun stuff.....

We replaced the bricks with about 100 20-pound grey retaining stones and then we replaced the old red mulch (yuck!) with new black mulch (yay!). We worked all day Saturday and then Sunday morning.  After putting weed killer, mulching around the trees, and edging the lawn, we finished up and we were able to hobble inside, sore, but happy!

Needless to say, I can barely move. After lifting and moving the bricks/stones, bending over, pulling, pushing, etc....I'll be lucky to get off this couch to go to bed! Haha!

At least it looks awesome and I am so proud of our work!

Here is a picture from before....yikes

Another before

After---no monkey grass....minus two bushes here as well!

So much better!
So much better--this is before edging, but still! :)

Ugh

Everyone likes to win. No one likes to lose.

But I HATE when the loss feels like a cheat. Did Wisconsin play their absolute best last night? Maybe not...but neither did Duke. I can not get over the terrible officiating last night. It was completely disgusting.

I don't understand how a game can be allowed to get so physical ONE-SIDED. Unbelievable.
Insane mistakes (being out of bounds) and miscalls AFTER A REVIEW????

When Memphis lost the national championship game, it hurt. That's my school and seeing the guys who had been kicking everyone's butt all year really sucked. Watching Wisconsin lose was heart-wrenching. I don't think there was a group of guys who had worked as hard over the past few YEARS and wanted this more than they did.

I'm just glad there are still organization like this school and group--what a great team. Thanks for such a great season!

On Wisconsin!

Even though shower weekend consumed the majority of my Friday and Saturday, I was able to catch the end of the Wisconsin/ Kentucky game. Of course, Mr. Tanner and I were completely freaking out the Badgers pulled the win....for many reasons:

1. Christopher went to University of Wisconsin.
2. I went to University of Memphis.
3. We both have a passionate love for sports--especially basketball (me for sure--KY born, folks)
4. We both have a passionate hate for Kentucky basketball. Why? Him- last years final four. Me- I went to University of Memphis. Do the math.

We spent most of our drive home Sunday trying to figure out how we could make a trip to Indianapolis work for the National Championship game.

Unfortunately, we just couldn't justify the trip because of annoying adult things like work and finances. However, we plan on being decked out in our Wisconsin red tonight to support the boys! All we need is cheese curds and Spotted Cow and it will be like we are in Madison!!!

If the Tigers can't Go, Wisconsin needs to be On!
