Grayson 11 Months

Weight/length:

I would assume around 22-23 pounds, 31 inches or so. (I will know at his flu shot follow up)
Grayson is completely in 12 month clothes, with some 18 month pants simply for length.  Most 18 month items are too big for him, however he is SO long, that I put him in a few of those items so his pants won't be too short. He has also graduated to size 4 diapers. He is still taking 3 bottles a day, all 8 oz each, along with a sippy of water throughout the day. I am going to transition these bottles to cups, but that has been on the back burner between teething and colds. My goals is to have him off his bottles by the new year! Feeding is still stressful, as G has such a sensitive gag reflex. We've had a few times where he has gagged on foods which has caused an all out throw up. UGH. We are still working on it. He is also very particular about texture and doesn't love any kind of soft, slimy foods. Of course I would have a picky eater....such karma!

Sleep:

Grayson has been sleeping great--going to bed around 7 (sometimes 7:30) and up at 6. Sometimes on the weekend, he will sleep until 7! (HALLELUJAH!)  He still takes 2 naps a day, around 9:30/10 and another around 2:30/3. He has started to boycott the 2nd nap, but usually only at daycare. He usually will nap at home just fine. On those days he doesn't nap at school, he usually falls asleep in the car on the way home, but can usually last until normal bedtime. When he transitions to the one year old room in January, he will have to take only one nap, so I guess he is getting ready!

Likes:

Grayson loves pulling up and cruising, goldfish crackers, mum mums, puffs, cheerios, bath time, his riding car/walker, and yelling as loud as possible

Dislikes:

Grayson hates teething, healthy table food, and not getting his way

Milestones:

Little man is up and cruising! He pulls up on everything and is on the go! Between that and crawling, he is into EVERYTHING! He is still very chatty and loves to "talk." I think he is starting to get that I am 'ma-ma' and Christopher is 'da-da.' I think so, at least. He is also starting to throw some little fits when something doesn't go his way.

And.....the teething. UGH. Lots of drool, coughing, rosy cheeks, and snot. The teeth have come with a vengeance. The bottom two front teeth are completely in and four top teeth are working their way in right now and I'm hoping we get a little break before the next set start up. Our little man has been a CRAB! :)

Grayson: 10 Months

Weight/length:

No doctor appointment this month, but I would think around 22 pounds and a little over 30 inches.

Grayson is wearing some 9-12 month and has graduated into some 12 month clothing. He is still mostly in 3 month diapers, but we are about to graduate to 4's simply for length purposes. He is still taking 3 bottles a day, along with a sippy at lunch, dinner, and after dinner. We have been trying to transition away from purees  to thicker foods/table foods. Poor G hasn't been loving it. We can get him to pick up a few pieces and then he's done. He will sometimes eat chunks if they are mixed in a puree, but he just is not a fan. He feed himself and scarf down puffs, yogurt melts, mum mum crackers, and ritz all day long. We are just going to keep trying, but it can definitely make meal times feel stressful.

Sleep:

Grayson has been sleeping great--going to bed around 7 and up at 6. He still takes 2 naps a day, around 9:30 and another around 2. He has had a few days where his morning nap was so long that he didn't take an afternoon nap (other than a quick 10 minute snooze in the car) and he handled it ok. (He just required a 6:15 bed time--haha!) We are definitely NOT ready for one nap a day, but I can see it coming in the near future!

Likes:

Grayson loves puffs, yogurt melts, mum mums, ritz crackers, bath time, clapping, waving hello/bye bye, crawling everywhere, attempting to pull up on everything, and trying to open and close all of our doors

Dislikes:

Grayson hates banana, attempting to eat table food that isn't junk food (haha!), having his diaper changed, being still for any length of time

Milestones:

Little man has become a speed demon on his hands and knees. We have to watch him like a hawk, as he is everywhere and into everything! He has pulled up to standing in his crib at home and at school a few times, but it is still a work in progress. Grayson usually prefers to just pull up to his knees.

Grayson loves to clap his hands and wave hello/ bye-bye. He is still a chatty Kathy, saying lots of words/ sounds including ma-ma, da-da, and ba-ba. He also loves to stick out his tongue and make a tooting sound. Such a gentleman. :)

And.....we FINALLY have TEETH! The two front bottom teeth finally starting popping through a few days before his 10 month birthday. This morning, I could see the little white teeth above the gums, so they are officially cut through! Now just to make their way up. I'm excited for him, but also incredibly sad to lose that precious gum smile!

Grayson: 9 Months

Weight/length:

Weight: 22 pounds
Length: 30 inches

Grayson is wearing 9-12 month clothes and is still in size 3 diapers. We are down to 3 bottles a day and a sippy cup at night, as well as some sips of water throughout the day. He is still chowing down on his purees and has recently gotten better at feeding himself puffs and yogurt melts. We have had some small bits of table food here and there, but with a terrible cold turned sinus infection, we've put trying new finger foods on the back burner. We are hoping after this round of antibiotics is finished, we will be good as new and ready to keep trying new things!

Sleep:

After a 2 week hiatus from a croupy cough and sinus infection, we are slowly getting back on track. Grayson is usually in bed no later than 7 and we get him out of bed at 6. Lately, he's been getting up at 5:30 (sometimes 5) and sitting up/crawling around the bed. Silly goose. I'm hoping this is just a phase and he will go back to sleeping until at least 6.

Likes:

Grayson loves sweet potato puffs, Sprouts pouches, applesauce, bath time in his inflatable duck, Mickey Mouse, crawling everywhere, trying to pull up, TV remotes, and Elsa's tail

Dislikes:

Grayson hates coughing, medicine, the nose frida, having his nose wiped, throwing up, and diaper changes

Milestones:

We have come so far this month! One day he just started going from his tummy to sitting and a few days later he was crawling like a maniac! We invested in a large baby pen  (we refer to as baby jail)  in order to keep him contained. Grayson loves crawling anywhere he can and trying to pull up on everything! It's exciting, scary, and exhausting! Ha.

Still talking up a storm, but his favorite word is definitely da-da. I think he is starting to put together that Christopher IS da-da. I'm ma-ma on occasion, but so is the tv, his walker, his blocks....or whatever. :)

And still....NO. TEETH.

Grayson: 8 months

Weight/length:

Grayson is somewhere between 20 and 21 pounds and probably around 29 inches long. He is SO big! I can't get over it. :) We are in 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers (Sam's Club brand). He is taking 4 bottles a day-- usually 6 oz each (sometimes 8 oz first thing in the morning). He is also taking a sippy cup 1-2 times a day, as well as is eating 3 meals a day. We are braving finger foods and Grayson has been enjoying puffs. He's still not good at feeding himself, but he is trying! We have also tried strawberries, spinach, blueberries and macaroni and cheese (which he did not care for...what???).

Sleep:

Sleeping like a champ from 6:30/7-until 6 and napping twice a day for about an 1 to 1.5 hours each. Every now and again he will "cry out" or talk in his sleep, but he won't even move when he does this. I feel really lucky that he is so easy to put down. Literally, we don't rock, give a bottle, use a pacy....NOTHING for sleeping. We read a book, kiss him, and lay him down for naps and night time. We've been doing that since he was 3 months old. (maybe less? I don't remember) I felt proud at daycare when his teacher said that he is the perfect baby and as long as she's worked there, she's never had a baby that she can just lay down and he will fall asleep on his own. I mean....just saying. Let's hope she didn't jinx it, haha! :)

Likes:

Grayson loves to eat his food, Mickey Mouse, trying to stand, smiling, laughing, pushing around in his walker, playing with his rattle rings, sprouts pouches, rolling/scooting, bath time, and his daddy :)

Dislikes:

Grayson hates the being tired, sitting still, having his nose wiped, not being able to get where he wants to go, and being constipated

Milestones:

We are talking up a storm, saying 'mama' and 'dada,' along with lots of babbling and happy screeching. He is learning to wave, clap, and use his fingers. He still hasn't mastered the pincer grasp yet, but he is definitely working on it. Poor boy still can't crawl, but he will rock around with his stomach off the ground. However, he gets frustrated with that, and will simply scoot and crawl where he needs to go. Over the past couple of weeks, he's been pulling himself up on his zebra push walker from a sitting position....and tonight he tried to stand up in the bath tub. I have a feeling that when he figures out the crawling, it won't last long. Yikes.

And still.....NO teeth. Haha.....Gums forever!!

Love this wild man!

Grayson: 7 months

A few days late, but better than never! :)

Weight/length:

No doctor's appointment this month, but I would guess Gray is closer to 20 pounds and a little over 28 inches. He is still wearing size 3 diapers and we've recently started putting him in night time diapers for bed when double diapering didn't stop leaks. I am about to put away all of his 6 month clothes and we are almost completely in 9 month clothes. He has been doing great with his sippy cup and  eating solids. Some new favorites this month are sweet potatoes, pears, and strawberry yogurt! We've attempted puffs (broken into pieces) but I'm still nervous about choking, so I haven't pushed it. Grayson has also mastered eating food from a pouch, which is AWESOME, especially when we are on the go or we aren't wanting to fool around with a spoon and bowl. He knows how to hold it and he sucks down the food, no problem!

Sleep:

Still sleeping and napping great! Naps around 9 and 1:30 for about an hour- an hour and a half each; bedtime between 6:30-7 and sleeping until 6-6:30. We've had the occasional early wake-up calls with Grayson trying to practice crawling in his bed, which has led to some whining, but overall. nothing terrible and everyone is still getting plenty of rest. Wahoo!

Likes:

Grayson loves sweet potatoes, sprouts pouches, his jumperoo, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, making silly faces, itsy bitsy spider, peek-a-boo, and playing on mom and dad's bed

Dislikes:

Grayson hates the being tired, being in his carseat too long, being hungry, and shopping (sad mommy)

Milestones:

This past month, Grayson had his first weekend getaway with our group of friends. We had a great time and he did fabulous sleeping in our room in his pack-n-play (for the first time since he was a newborn!).

All this kid wants to do is crawl. He is trying SO hard but hasn't figured it out yet. I think he will be mobile any week now. He is still drooling and teething like crazy, but not a tooth in site. I used to be sure that those bottom teeth were going to pop through any day, but now I am not as sure.  Every diaper change is a wrestling match, as he is way too busy wanting to log roll away as soon as his pants are off--haha! Grayson LOVES to laugh and loves to be tickled. He gets super silly with his daddy and it makes my heart melt.

He is such a mess and we love him to pieces!

Grayson: 6 Months

Halfway through year one! holy smokes!

Weight/length:

Grayson is 19.3 pounds and 28 inches ! He is SO long! We are down to 4 bottles a day, ranging between 6-8 oz each. We have also started our solids adventure, in the form of purees. Baby has had apples, bananas, prunes, carrots, green beans, peas, carrots, and squash. He has also had some rice cereal mixed in with the fruits. We've been introducing a sippy cup every time he has a "meal." Some days this goes better than others, but it is more about just getting him used to having a cup. We are planning on trying a bunch of new foods, including peaches, pears, avocado, cauliflower, and scrambled eggs!

Grayson is in size 3 diapers and we have just started to wear 9 month clothes. The 6 months are almost too short!

Sleep:

Sleeping like a champ! Going to bed between 6:30-7 and getting up around 6:30. He will occasionally get up between 4-5 and talk to himself...which is pretty adorable, albeit loud. AND I was completely wrong....kiddo is a TUMMY sleeper. I would have never guessed that a kiddo who HATED being on his stomach would love it now and that is the only way he will sleep. Go figure.

Napping turned a HUGE corner this month. It was like he decided that he wanted to nap in his bed and that was that. While we were on vacation, napping got a TON better and now we have a very predictable nap schedule. Going down for 1.5- 2 hours around 9, and then another 1.5-2 hours between 1 and 2. This has made scheduling our days MUCH easier, not to mention, we have a much happier and well rested baby.

Likes:

Grayson loves the ergo carrier, the jumperoo, putting anything and everything in his mouth, playing on the floor, baths, apples, and carrots

Dislikes:

Grayson hates the being tired, not being able to crawl, 6 month shots, and peas.

Milestones:

This past month, Grayson went on his first vacation and took his first round trip on a plane. He did amazing and we were so proud! We are planning his first road trip for the near future and another flight for later this year.

We are a master a log rolling everywhere and all this baby wants to do is CRAWL. He will get on his tummy and scoot in circles, but can't figure out how to go forward or backwards. He is so determined, but eventually will cry out of frustration. He has mastered sitting up unassisted, but will sometimes lose his balance and topple over. The boppy pillow has been a saving grace for that! The teething has been about to do me in....so much drool, chomping, and fussiness. I feel like those little toothies have got to pop through one of these days! I am going to miss that gummy smile, though! :)

Just look at this cuteness!
This boy brings out ALL the feels!!!
